On Staffordshire University's topfan.co.uk research platform we have just started another research project looking at the perspectives of fans on the recent scandals involving racism in football.
The questionnaire has just gone live at www.topfan.co.uk and as you know is very current with incidents both on and off the pitch.
Are the players to blame for the recent upsurge or has it never really been eradicated from the British game? Our homophobia research (published inSport and Social Issues and forthcoming in The British Journal of Sociology) suggested that fans have become more liberal, inclusive and approving of diversity; the impression given in the media in recent weeks is perhaps misleading.
