Former Coventry City striker John Hartson has said that he would love to manage Swansea City.

Hartson never played for his home town club but would love the opportunity to manage them after taking his UEFA A Coaching licence.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Hartson said: "Several clubs have been made aware of me. I would walk over hot coals to take Swansea into the Premier League.

'I have a lot to give to coaching and management and that is what I want to do."

As reported yesterday, Chris Coleman is still in the running for the job according to the Bookies. Coventry City continued this morning to deny that Coleman will be leaving for South Wales whilst Swansea Chairman Huw Jenkins said that it he hoped to be in a situation next week where he was close to appointing a manager.

Swansea have received more than 100 applications for the manager's job with around thirty being seriously considered. John Hughes who had been favourite won't be continuing his interest after being announced as the next Hibernian manager.
