Former Coventry City striker John Hartson has quit as assistant manager with the Wales national team.

Hartson, who is in Coventry tomorrow, had worked with Chris Coleman during Wales' World Cup campaign but has announced that he is standing down with immediate effect.

"I've enjoyed every moment of my time with Wales. Everyone knows how passionate I am about my country," Harton said to BBC Wales.

"The work I now do as a pundit for the BBC is taking up more of my time. With another child on the way I need to spend some time with my family."
