Former City defender Gary Caldwell has described Craig Bellamy refusal to shake hands after Celtic's 3-1 victory over Hibs at Easter Road as "both "degrading" to him personally an also an insult to the game’s good standing."

The Scot added: "I went to shake his hand and thought he played very well in the game. "He was probably the main difference between the sides. But it’s disappointing when a fellow professional won’t shake your hand at the end of a game.

"I thought he played well. After any game, whether I’m on the winning side or part of a team which loses 5-0, I will always shake the hand of the player
I’m up against. If he doesn’t want to do it, then that’s disappointing. You’d have to ask him why he didn’t do it.

"If he can give you an answer then that’s fine. But not to shake someone’s hand is degrading and disappointing for the game. You’re out there competing against each other, but we’re all men and should be able to shake each other’s hand and get on with it. But he wouldn’t do that."

John Hartson and Bellamy who was accused of bragging how much he earns by Clyde players both were on the score sheet for the Glasgow based club.
