Former Coventry City favourite Marcus Hall, who has been offered a contract by Northampton Town, will have to decide by this evening if is he going to accept it.

Coventry born Hall, who had two spells with his home town club, had been released by previous manager Chris Coleman.

The 34 year old defender has been on trial with the Cobblers and had impressed manager Ian Sampson sufficiently for him to offer Hall a contract, but now he wants a decision and has given Hall until tonight to decide.

Sampson told the Northampton Chronicle and Echo: "I want a decision by the end of today. I was pleased with the way Marcus played at Kettering, he did nearly 90 minutes and that was encouraging. His performance was a lot better than it was on Saturday. The offer is there for him, he's just got to decide on it now."
