Coventry City midfielder Aron Einar Gunnarsson played for Iceland tonight in their 2-0 home defeat by Denmark in a Euro2012 Qualfying Group match.
Gunnarsson had a couple of shots in a game played at the Laugardalsvöllur in Reykjavik which he played the whole ninety minutes plus stopppage time.
Denmark were slightly the better and took the lead through Schene on the hour mark before Eriksen notched a second for the visitors with fifteen minutes remaining.
For Gunnarsson, there will be no break in football as he is part of Iceland's U21 squad which will compete in the European U21 Championship in Denmark next week.
