Gunnarsson Captains Iceland But They Go Out

Former Coventry City midfielder Aron Gunnarsson captained Iceland tonight in their Euro 2016 Quarter-Final defeat against France in Saint Denis in Paris.

Olivier Giroud opened the scoring when he broke through to score in the 12th minute and seven minutes later Paul Pogba headed home a second from a corner.

In the 42nd minute, Dmitri Payet scored his third goal of the tournament with a low finish and two minutes later, Antoine Greizmann scored a fourth.

Iceland pulled a goal back in the 55th minute through Kolbeinn Sigthorsson who stuck out his leg to steer the ball home.

It was five for France in the 58th minute when Giroud rose to head home.

Iceland pulld another gpal back in the 83rd minute with a Birkir Bjarnason header but it was France who will face Germny in the Semi-Final after a 5-2 win.
