Growing Speculation About Carsley For Walsall

Speculation grows about Coventry City captain Lee Carsley becoming the next manager of Walsall FC, if tweets by Broadcaster and City fan Stuart Linnell are to be believed.

The City skipper, who did not play in the Sky Blues FA Cup win over Crystal Palace yesterday, was linked with becoming a player-manager to replace Chris Hutchins in the Saddlers hot-seat with a Wolverhampton based newspaper.

It is still not clear if Carsley has actually applied for the job which the Wolverhampton Express & Star linked him with on Thursday, but speculation continues despite Carsley saying at the club's weekly press conference that he wants to be part of a City team which gets promoted.

Dean Smith is the caretaker manager until a decision is made by the Walsall Board.
