"Ground Settlement" has been blamed for the cracks which have appeared on some walls at the Ricoh Arena.

Cracks have been spotted at the stadium owned by Wasps and rented by Coventry City until June 2019 and built on the old Foleshill gas works site.

However, Wasps have said in a Ricoh Arena press statement that the cracks are nothing unusual and said:: "Routine building checks have found some minor cracks in some walls which is a result of ground settlement, which is not unusual in a building of this size.

"In consultation with our structural engineer, we are carrying out the normal maintenance.

“The Ricoh Arena will remain open as normal during maintenance works and there will be no disruption to the venue’s day-to-day operations.”
