Coventry City midfielder Gael Bigirimana  says that it is great to be back in the first team fold.

“I couldn’t be happier! “It’s great to be back playing in the team, helping the club, because that’s what we’re all here for,” said the Championship Apprentice of the year, who came on for the second half against Portmouth last Saturday to the CT’s Alan Poole.

Gael had been dropped from the first team squad and played a couple of game for the U18’s and for the reserves to get his confidence back and he said: “It was disappointing for me but you’ve got to learn how to deal with disappointment. .

“You have to step back, take it in, because that’s part of gaining experience. "You learn how it feels to be dropped and when you’re training you work harder because you want another chance.

“It’s always very competitive in training because there are some very good midfielders at the club who all want to play and there are only four places.

"That can make it difficult, especially if you’re young and you’ve only just broken into the first team, but the team is the most important thing.

“I want to help the team, give them another option, but I knew I would have to be patient because the boys have been fantastic for the last four games.”
