The Great Britain mens football team managed by former Coventry City defender Stuart Pearce are out of the Olympic Tournament after a penalties defeat against South Korea.
At Cardiff tonight, Team GB who started with former City forward Craig Bellamy and former youngster Danny Sturridge, went a goal down in the 29th minute when Dongwon scored with a left footed shot.
A handball gave GB a penalty and Arron Ramsey scored but when they were awarded a second penalty, it was saved by the South Korea keeper Jung.
Bellamy was replaced in the 85th minute by Ryan Giggs but the game went into extra time.
That failed to produce a goal, so the match went to penalties. At 4-4, Danny Sturridge stepped up and had his spot kick saved. Yung of Celtic scored and sent South Korea to meet Brazil in the Semi-Final at Old Trafford
