Shaun Goater has expressed his delight at being able to play again. Not having featured for Reading since October, due to the Royals not wanting to pay Manchester City a further £50,000, the Bermudan who will make his debut at Worcester City tonight, views City a challenge.

Speaking to Reading's club website, the 35 year old said: "I'm pleased, the way my situation at Reading was carrying on it was more and more apparent I wasn't going to play for the first team.

"I want to be playing, and it's a chance to jump into the melting pot with the situation Coventry are in. "I'm looking forward to playing in a pressure environment and hopefully helping the Club out of their position. I've done my best in reserve games but there's not the same pressure, of course.

"It's all happened more or less this morning. I trained, then literally the phone rang and it's been non-stop since. I came straight to the ground and it was all agreed.

"I've only been able to speak to Micky Adams briefly. I'm involved in the game at Worcester and it'll be nice to get a game and find out more about some of the lads."
