Kevin Thornton has said that he is glad to be playing again. For the midfielder who signed a two year deal last May, it has been a season full of injuries but Thornton is hopeful that he can get back to his form.

He told the club website: "It feels good to be back. "It has been a frustrating year for me, but hopefully I can play a part in the first team before the end of the season.

"I reckon after another reserve game I'll be back up to speed because I've been working so hard on the training pitch. "My target is to get fit and show him (Dowie) what I'm all about between now and the end of the season and then hopefully, with a good pre-season behind me, I can make myself a regular in the first team."
