Gillingham have sacked manager Peter Taylor.
The Gill said in a short statement: "Peter Taylor has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect.
"The Chairman has asked the coaching staff to assist Andy Hessenthaler with this weekend's game against Port Vale."
The former England international was appointed as full-time manager in November 2013 and leaves with Gillingham 20th in the League One table.
