Former Coventry City defender Stuart Giddings has joined Hinckley United.

Coventry born Giddings was released by Chris Coleman at the end of last season after missing most of the last two season with knee and ankle injuries.

After coming through the Academy, Giddings starred for City Reserves and made his debut in 2004. Since then he made only 14 more starts and four substitute appearances.

The 23 year year old was loaned out to Oldham Athletic last season and made three appearances before returning to Coventry injured.

He will know two of his team mates as Andy Gooding and Andy Hall both play for Dean Thomas'side.

Dean Thomas told Hinckley's official website: "Stuart is a good, young player, who will help to bring balance to our squad and he has a good pedigree."

Meanwhile, former City loanee Brian Kerr has joined Brighton on trial.
