Former Coventry City forward George Thomas has completed his move to Leicester City.

Thomas, who came through City's Academy and U23's to play in the first team and score at Wembley in the EFL Trophy Final, had allowed his contract with the Sky Blues to expire on June 30th and turned down City's offer of a new deal.

However, the Sky Blues were still entitled to compensation and a fee of around £450,000 has been agreed between City and Leicester who have given Thomas, who was watched on numerous occasions by one of their scouts Tom Thacker, a three year deal.

Thomas, from Wigston in Leicester is expected to be part of Leicester's development side for this season.

City boss Mark Robins said about Thomas joining Leicester: "We are disappointed George has come to this decision.

"He is a fantastic lad and everyone associated with Coventry City wish him all the very best.

"Hopefully our paths can cross again at some point in the future."
