Former Coventry City striker Leon Best could be out of action for three months.
The striker who joined Newcastle United last January, ruptured ankle ligaments in training and is seeing a specialist in London to assess the damage.
If the new is bad, Best who has scored twice in pre-season for Newcastle could be out for three months.
