The Coventry City Former Players Association are pleased to announce that Former Coventry City striker turned midfielder Gary McSheffrey will be our ‘special guest’ for CCFC’s match on Tuesday night (1st November 2016 7.45pm kick off) against Chesterfield under the floodlights at the Ricoh.

Gary has made more than 450 appearances in the Football League and Premier League, including two spells at Coventry City, where he became the youngest player ever to play in the Premier League.  Gary has played for Birmingham City, Leeds United (on loan), Chesterfield and Scunthorpe United during his career.

The ‘Coventry kid’, who still has family sporting links with his home town, made 281 Sky Blues appearances (72 goals) in two spells at CCFC (1998-2007 & 2010-14) as well as making over ninety appearances scoring fifteen goals during his time at Scunny (to whom he moved from Chesterfield following his second spell with CCFC). Gary has recently signed a contract with Doncaster Rovers.

Look out for Gary in the various supporters’ lounges prior to the game and on the stage of Lady Gs in the G-Casino for a Q&A with CCFPA’s Billy Bell .

Gary will also be assisting the BBC CWR live matchday commentary team during the game as it unfolds to those supporters who cannot make it to the Ricoh on Tuesday evening.
