Fox On International Dilemma

Danny Fox is on the horn of an international dilemma.

Born in Wilmslow, Cheshire, the left back is an England U21 international but he qualifies for Scotland via one of his grand-fathers.

Said Fox to the CT: "I have sorted everything out so that Scotland know I qualify to play for them but I have not heard anything else from them because I have been injured but it is still very much up in the air and I am not too sure what is going to happen.

"I saw that Leighton Baines has been called into the England squad and he was playing Championship football not too long ago, so it is something that I maybe need to think a little bit more about.

"I have got to try to keep improving and I think being at Coventry is the best place for that to happen under the gaffer and Steve Kean, where the coaching has worked massively for me.

"Hopefully if we keep progressing in the way me and the team have been you never know what could happen.

It is a dilemma because I am English but I don't know what to say without it coming across the wrong way.

"I would obviously be honoured to play for Scotland if it did happen, and I would be proud to play for them, but on the flip side I am still not too sure so it is something I have got to think about massively."

"Maybe I am looking for a bit of reassurance from the Under-21 coach.

"I don't even know if I would have been called into the squad if I had been fit, but I have just got get fit in time for the European Under-21 Championships in the summer and Scotland have got a few B games coming up as well in May.

"I have just got to get back playing for Coventry and if I end up being selected for both then obviously it is a massive decision for me to make, but only time will tell."
