"I am delighted that Lee Fowler has made his move to the McAlpine a permanent one," Terriers boss Peter Jackson told his club's official website.
"He is only 20 and has already proved what a good young player he is.
"He has also been a big hit with the supporters and I feel that over the next couple of years Lee could turn into a tremendous player for this club."
