Four City Old Boys Play In Nuneaton Cup Win

Four former Coventry City players were involved in Nuneaton Town's FA Cup Second Qualifying Round game at Needham Market.

Neil Collett, Mark Noon, Kevin Thornton and Adam Walker all started for Nuneaton who won 3-0.

Leamington are out after a 2-1 defeat at Daventry Town. Travis and Cross put the home side two goals up before the break before Blythe pulled one back in second half stoppage time.

Stratford Town march on with a 4-2 win at Stafford Rangers. An Andy Gregory own goal put Stafford ahead in the 16th minute but Moreton Titterton's side levelled in the 56th minute through Chris Murphy and went ahead through former Sky Blue Ben Mackey nine minutes later. Alan Nagington hit a second for Rangers in the 75th minute but Stratford came back to win with two goals from Josh Blake in the 87th and 90th minute in front of a crowd of 438.

In the Southern League Central Division, Bedworth drew 2-2 at Ashford Town (Middlesex) thanks to goals from Piggon and Robinson whilst Rugby Town drew 1-1 with Bedfont Town thanks to Harris equalising in the 54th minute.

In the Midland Combination Premier Division, a 65th minute goal from Curtis Jackson gave Coventry Copsewood a 1-0 home win against Walsall Wood. Racing Club Warwick drew 1-1 at Bolehall Swifts but Southam United lost 3-1 at home to Castle Vale.

In the Les James Challenge Cup, Nuneaton Griff won 4-2 at Earlswood Town with goals from Wilks, Richards, Barnett and Slinn.

Alvis won their Midland Combination Division One game at Archdale 73 4-2, whilst in Division Two, FC Stratford won 1-0 at Coventry Spartans, Young Warriors won 4-0 at Polesworth but Leamington Hibernian lost 6-1 at home to Perrywood.
