Marc Antoine Fortune has said that the attacks in Paris on Friday night which left around 130 people dead with over 350 injured, a hundred of which were critical.

Fortune who scored City's third goal in the 3-1 win at Colchester and dedicated his goal to the memory of those who perished in the seven attacks on the French capital including the France versus Germany friendly at the Stade De France.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, Fortune said, following a minute silence before kick off: “I did not expect this and I really appreciate that England showed they are a friend of France.

“I have uncles and cousins who live in Paris and really close to what happened. I was a bit worried but everyone is fine.

“Me and Romain share a room in the hotel and when it happened last night we were both ringing our families in Paris.

“I was talking with some friends who were watching the France game in the Stade de France at the time and they told me what was happening outside. They kept me posted what was happening every half an hour and I was looking on the internet and it wasn’t easy to sleep.

“It’s a very sad day for all French people. We need to stay strong.

It is always hard to focus when something like this happens but we managed to do that.

“We will see how France handle this tragedy now.

“I am very lucky because my friends and family who live in Paris weren’t in the places affected. But we have lost other people and that’s why when I scored I had a little think about that.

“It’s a bad time for us but we have to stay united. We need to keep going. We’re scared because it’s something terrible.”
