Former Defender In Sky Blues Talks

City boss Peter Reid is keen to bring the defender, who is out of contract at Sunderland at the end of the month, back to Highfield Road.

"Phil is an experienced defender who would be a valuable addition to our squad," Reid told the clubs official website.

"Having signed him at Sunderland I know the kind of player he is on and off the pitch."
