Former Coventry City Academy Centre Half Ricky Fletcher has signed for Coventry Sphinx FC.
The Coventry born centre half, who was very unlucky not have been offered a professional contract with the Sky Blues has signed for the Midland Alliance side which starts it's league campaign at home to Causeway United next Saturday (August 3rd).
Speaking to the Sphinx website, Manager Luke Hopkins said about Fletcher; "Ricky is a big powerful young lad, he's a proven Academy footballer, he's definitely got good awareness and has it all to be a brilliant player.
"He wants as much game time as possible and I think coming in at our level he will get it and there no doubt if he proves himself he will move up the ladder perhaps back into league football,
" I think the route he has chosen is better than signing for a higher ranked club and not getting minutes to prove himself"
