Former City Young Player Joins Warwick

Former Coventry City youngster Ben Mackey is to join Racing Club Warwick for next season.

Macey was City's youngest ever player, making his debut against Ipswich Town in 2003 at the age of 16 years and 167 days.

Released by City, he went to Racing Club Warwick and then Leamington , scoring 57 goals in 92 games before going to Brackley, Corby, Evesham, St Neots, Stourbridge, Hemel Hempstead, Leamington and Coventry United.

Racing Club Warwick Manager Scott Easterlow said to his club's website about signing Mackey: "It’s important the club keeps progressing every week, every month, every season and so on. Having Ben on board this early ready for the 2018-2019 campaign,shows which way the club is heading and shows our intentions for next season. Bens another Warwick lad and has always said to me Racing has a special place in his heart as a football club and he now wants to do his bit to get the club back where we both think they should be".

Mackey said: "I’ve been away from football for a bit and I’m excited to be coming back to my local club who got me back into football 10 years ago after leaving Coventry city and thinking I’d never play again. I’m Looking forward to joining a strong side with ambitions of winning the league and improving the club on & off the field".
