One time Coventry City target Dean Richards sadly died today after a long battle with illness.

Richards, whom City were trying to land when they signed Phil Babb from Bradford City, was 36.

Richard started with Bradford City, his hometown club before joining Wolves. He moved four years later to Southampton before joining Spurs for £8.1m in 2001.

Unfortunately, an inner ear infection plus dizzy spells and headaches led to him to retiring on medical advice in 2005 and he took up a job as youth team boss at Bradford City in 2007.
