Former City Chairman Re-Elected As An MP

Former Coventry City Chairman Geoffrey Robinson was re-elected as the MP for Coventry North West in the 2015 General Election

Mr Robinson, who has held the role since 1979 and was City Chairman from November 2005 to October 2007, polled 18,557 votes beating Conservative Party Candidate Parvez Ahktar who received 14,048 votes. 

Labour held Coventry South with Jim Cunningham re-elected after getting 18,472 votes, compared to former City Councillor Gary Ridley who stood for the Conservative Party and polled 15,824 votes.

Labour also held Coventry North East with Collen Fletcher polling 22,025 compared to the Conservative Party's Michelle Lowe who had 9,751 votes.  

The turn out in Coventry was 56.23% in Coventry NE, 61.69% in Coventry NW and 62.34% in Coventry South which is an average of 60.02%. 

Craig Tracey won Warwickshire North for the Conservatives.

There was no change in the local election with Labour keeping control of the City Council.
