For What It's Worth

My view based on non fact but my best guess of property and football.

Coventry City Council say Ricoh not for sale ? Why not? Is it a great asset to the city of Coventry without the football based there? Do the tenants in the casino think losing 400,000 footfall spread over 25 days would be to happy I would not be surprised if there is a rent break and or footfall linked to rent!

I would expect all the agreements for match days for bars, catering and ricoh sponsors are tied in with ACL which is a private company part owned by the council and part owned by the Higgs Trust.im not sure how that works with the charities commission or with judic...ial law for local authorities?

The fact that Coventry City Council can bail out a business for 14 million with taxpayers money when a bank has more than likely called in the debt, I don't know about not one penny more.

I wonder how many residents have said this about the council tax usage thus year or the staff jobs being cut within council savings?

If ACL can't stand on its own like many other struggling businesses then should it hold out the begging bowl? When I lost my construction business I would have been surprised to see the council bail me out or hundreds of other struggling local business.

CCFC want to buy the Ricoh but not ACL or all the agreements it had signed starving the FC of income when in tenancy, I would think ACL are in breach of almost every sponsor and service agreement they have signed.

I cannot imagine ACL going bump would look good for the Council but what about the taxpayer whom money has been spent on bailing out the business with a mortgage? I would think they can sleep comfortable in the fact that the council would have taken the first charge from the bank this securing the monies loaned by council taxpayers.

I know for sure that monies spent on the construction of the stadium bear no relation to the true value and that value would be further devalued if lots of conditional contracts have to be transferred so what's best for the people of cov ?

A soulless stadium with no cusp of a football club or a return of the sky blues buying the freehold based on independent valuations ?

I don't think it would be to difficult for a bright lawyer to both include protection of the stadium in the future and some condition returning more funds based on the success and or promotion of the club and ultimate resale price.

Now I agree the Sky Blues have made mistakes and lots of them as well as the council and I know from experience myself, hindsight is a great thing and mistakes are scrutinised but things are where they are with all clubs and you can only deal.with the cards in front of you and make the best of it.
