Rumours abound that the Football League have 'reluctantly' allowed SISU to move Coventry City to Northampton Town on the grounds of costs

The Football League's financial problems are well known and they have been getting less money from their sponsorships and television deals for a while than in previous years.

Had they blocked a move to Sixfields, as many wanted, the League could have faced legal challenges from both City and the Cobblers and this would have threatened the entire financial health of the league.
