Flexible friend?

At today's SCG meeting issues were raised with the new Flexi-card system, one being that supporters felt that this was a club credit card being promoted to them. Apparently the smartcard system designers (Germans) suggested that a better name would have been Flexi-ticket! Look out for this title being used in forthcoming promotions.

The main issue with the new Flexi-card/ticket was that a great many supporters who had ordered one, and received their ticket for the Colchester match, were still to receive their card and/or details of their customer account number and initial password. The delay, due to the actual software developers and not the club itself, certainly has resulted in some lost ticket sales and the club have accepted this and will endeavour to contact all those Flexi-card/ticket holders to provide them with more information and where possible their account details.

In the interim these card holders will be able to purchase tickets from the ticket office, and therefore receive the discount benefits, by stating to the ticket office staff that they are a card holder, and hen having their details checked.

Additionally the club are looking at the possibility of having Flexi-card holder's purchase a ticket ‘bundle' which it is hoped will offer a discount when purchasing tickets for 2 or 3 different home matches. These discounts whilst being attractive will not provide tickets at season ticket prices, still the cheapest way to watch the Sky Blues. Apparently the FA recommend clubs having tickets on sale for 5 home matches and the club are targeting this figure.

Discussions centred around season ticket holder benefits and some of the reasons behind why people buy a season ticket rather than pay on a match by match basis, and some ideas on possible benefits were given to the club from the group.

The club are looking at the possibility of a ticket promotion for the Southend game and may announce some ticketing initiatives around this time.
