Fitness First Says Flowers

Tim Flowers has said that the City players will be in for a tough pre-season but they will be fit because of it. The City supporting Assistant Manager said to the CT:"The lads went away with fantastic fitness booklets and they were left under no illusions as to what was expected of them.

"There will be none of this coming back seven pounds over, like in my day. "We want them all back under their playing weight and those who are not are going to be hit hard.

"It is going to be a really tough pre-season designed to test them both physically and mentally and we will see who ducks it. "So it will be interesting and a time when you learn a lot about people, although I have to say I don't think any of them will duck it.

"But there won't be anyone fitter than us come the start of the season."

The City players will be tested at Bath University before pre-season matches, most of which are still officially to be confirmed, start.
