Coventry City Chairman Tim Fisher has said that the club are delighted with the response to the tickets in the South Stand going on sale.

The club are now advising fans not to queue up at the ticket office at the Gallagher Retail Park as those already in the queue will take the thousand or so tickets which went on sale.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Simon Gilbert, Mr Fisher who was helping to man the phones, said: “We are obviously delighted with the response from fans today.

“When we left the office last night, there was already someone who started queuing at 10pm, it’s fantastic.

“We are excited for Friday in terms of the occasion and we are negotiating to free up more tickets.

“Even as we speak this morning Steve Brookfield (club accountant) is in talks with the SAG and ACL going through things. It is real time decision making.

“We hope tomorrow will be a positive atmosphere and everyone will get behind Steven Pressley and the team.

“I want to thank Karen Bennett (CCFC store manager) and her colleagues who have worked tirelessly.”
