Fisher Rules Out Sacking Pressley

Coventry City Chairman Tim Fisher has backed City boss Steven Pressley.

There were plenty on social media calling for City to get rid of Pressley following the FA Cup defeat to non-league Worcester City but Mr Fisher backed Pressley by telling BBC Coventry & Warwickshire: : "Steven Pressley is here for the long-term, it is about the Academy, the infrastructure and Steven is part of our long-term plans.

"In terms of squads, we have one of the most expensive in League One. You could play snooker on the pitch at Ryton. We have technology that captures everything from players acceleration, speed but it doesn't capture the will to win.

"Yesterday was not about investment on or off the pitch, it was about 11 players failing to want to win the game.

"We were beaten by semi-professionals and that is why we are angry. A footballer is paid to do a job and yesterday they failed to do that.

"There is one other point I would like to mention, change, the club is historically short-terminist, we've had more managers than you've had hot dinners and there will be bumps along the way and yesterday was a big bump but we have to keep a long-term vision."
