First Visit Of Port Vale To The Ricoh Arena

Saturday afternoon will see the first time that Port Vale have visited Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena for a league fixture.

Port Vale have been to Highfield Road on thirteen occasions and once to Sixfields for matches against City.

Of those fourteen occasions, City have won three times, drawn six and lost five times, scoring 26 goals to Port Vale’s 40.

City’s heaviest defeat at home to Port Vale was a 4-0 loss in September 1919 and their biggest win was a 4-1 win on December 31st 1921.

Last season saw the Sky Blues at Sixfields come back to draw 2-2. Steven Pressley’s side trailed to a Doug Loft goal after 37 seconds and one from Ben Williamson in the 73rd minute. Jordan Clarke pulled a goal back in the 79th minute and in the first minute of stoppage time, Callum Wilson grabbed an equaliser.
