Fifth Place For City

Coventry City are fifth in the Championship table after a penalty from Marlon King gave the Sky Blues a 1-0 home win against second from bottom Middlesbrough.

Cardiff City missed a chance to go top when they had to come from a goal down to snatch a home draw against bottom side Preston North End.

Swansea won 3-1 at Ipswich in the lunchtime game to stay in third place whilst Norwich moved up to fourth with a 2-1 win at Derby County.

Leeds are back in the top six after a 2-1 home victory over third from bottom Crystal Palace.

Elsewhere, two goals from Steve Morison helped Millwall to a 3-0 home win against Scunthorpe whilst former Sky Blue John Eustace scored for Watford in a 3-2 win over Leicester.

Talking of former Sky Blues, Clinton Morrison scored for Sheffield Wednesday in a 2-1 defeat at Swindon Town and Kevin Thornton scored for Northampton in a 2-0 win over Stockport.

Locally, the only game on was Stratford Town A's Midland Combination Division 3 game against Walsall Wood Reserves which finished in a 2-2 draw.
