Coventry City Interim CEO Tim Fisher has said that it is vital that the club has the support of City supporters.

With no bids being received by the club and Mr Fisher saying they are not expecting one, the Interim CEO has said that agreeing a stadium deal is vital and also vital to the progress of the club is the support and goodwill of the fans.

Speaking to the CT's Andy Turner as part of a question and answer session, Mr Fisher said: "The support we received from our fans – at home and away – last year, in what was obviously a very difficult season, was simply magnificent. This club is extremely fortunate to have such a large, passionate, and loyal fan base. And this loyalty continues to be reflected in season ticket sales.

"I’m greatly encouraged by the start we have made to season ticket sales for next season and we are already higher than the same period last year. Selling as many season tickets as we can and packing out the Ricoh Arena as often as possible next season will be more important than ever as we take on the new challenges presented by a very tough league.

"Once we have stabilised our finances, we will also be looking to follow up on Joy Seppala’s commitment to transfer a proportion of the club’s ownership to our fans.

"Clearly, we need to work on the detail of this but we see this initiative as being a very important aspect of re-building confidence and of ensuring a more stable future for the club based on a true partnership with all of our key stakeholders."
