2017 will see the 30th Anniversary of one of our clubs finest achievements.

On a hot day on May 16th 1987, Coventry City FC, the perennial underdogs stole the Sunday sports headlines from one of the most successful FA Cup winning teams of all time, Tottenham Hotspur FC, their team of stars included England’s playmaker Glen Hoddle, Argentina’s Ozzie Ardiles, and that year’s English top goal scorer Clive Allen to name a few…

All the footballing experts had written off rag tag Coventry, the City side was full of lower league players and journey men, this game was meant to be Hoddle swan song – it was set to be the Waddle, Hoddle and Allen show, with Coventry only there to provide the backdrop to another famous Spurs FA Cup win – after all they had never lost a final we were constantly told!

But it never quite turned out like that…

We will be showing the highlights of both the quarter final Vs Sheffield Wednesday and the semi final Vs Leeds United, and then the final in full – the event is open to all ages – so bring the kids and grandkids – us older ones never shut up about this day this event might give the kids that have had NO success since, a small feeling of what it was like on that glorious day in May 1987.

Bring your hats, scarfs and flags - lets have some fun supporting City again!!

We are hoping to have players from the 1987 squad as well as some former players – Dave Bennett, Micky Gynn, Steve Ogrizovic and Trevor Peake have confirmed as attending.
