FA 150 Awards For Coventry Duo

Two Coventry based people were recipients of The Football Association's award for 'GrassRoots Heroes' as part of their 150th Anniversary.

Derrick May is the Secretary of the Coventry Minor League and a member of the Birmingham County FA Disciplinary panel whilst Covsupport News Service's Kev Monks, is involved with the Coventry Charity Football Cup, helps wherever possible with Coventry Sphinx and Coventry City Ladies, as well as helping City supporters from all over the world keep in touch with the Sky Blues via websites, match reports lists and the various City supporters clubs and groups.

Derrick and Kev received a medal from FA President HRH The Duke Of Cambridge in a ceremony at Buckingham Palace which also hosted a Southern Amateur Football League Senior Division One game between Civil Service and Polytechnic FC. The first ever game at Buckingham Palace was won by Polytechnic 2-1.
