Coventry City have been warned to expect more phone calls and on-line business for match tickets and merchandise when they move to the Arena next week.

Surveys have shown that phone and on-line sales have risen by as much as 50% at some clubs who have moved away from their fan base to out of town locations.

Currently, the Sky Blues have two shops and the retail outlet in West Orchard shopping centre in town can expect far more visitors, due to its central and accessible location, when the club shop at Highfield Road closes its doors on Wednesday August 17th at 5pm for the final time.

The club have not been helped by certain aspects of the Green Travel Plan. Take for example, the De Courcey/Trust buses which will have supporters dropped at the ground, half an hour before kick off and then collected at 5pm, or the Park & Walk sites which close one hour after the final whistle, both of which leave very little time to buy tickets or shop on a match day.
The new ticket office at the Arena is due to open on August 19th as is the club shop.
