Everything In Place - Singleton

FORMER Coventry City Ladies chairman Dave Singleton believes everything is in place for his replacement to succeed at the club.

Singleton had announced his resignation from the Premier League club in December and was due to stay in the role until the end of the current season.

But a new and exciting business venture has brought his illustrious ten year reign at the club to an abrupt end this week.

And although he will be unable to play a key role in hiring his successor, Singleton has revealed everything is in place to continue the good work he started many years ago.

When I joined we set a vision that Coventry City Ladies FC would be a place where the girls of Coventry could realise their footballing dreams,” said Singleton.

We always had huge ambition, and spirit and togetherness has been rewarded with terrific results.

Our new Chairman needs to be a person who has time on their hands to grow the commercial side of the football club that is representative of one of the clubs at the top of the pyramid.

It's not a position that requires footballing prowess, there's a full team and director in place to undertake that, they need all the support they need to maintain a top flight Premiership position.”

Singleton took over as Chairman and played his part in hiring Paul Cudby back in 2008 as part of the club's 'Think Premiership' campaign and the Sky Blues have gone on to enjoy much success since.

In 2010 the club finally achieved promotion to the Premier League Northern Division and the following year Cudby guided the club to the top tier of women's football.

I have thoroughly enjoyed ten years with Coventry City Ladies,” Singleton confirmed.

I'm really sorry to be leaving the club after ten years, but do so proud of everything we've achieved.

There's little doubt, however, that I'll ever be gone for ever. I'll be watching from a distance, would like to sponsor a player and continue to help from afar.”

As a result of the promotions that Coventry City Ladies have achieved, the club are now looking for more help to ensure the club can continue to develop.
