Potential bidder Dale Evans has told the Coventry Telegraph that regardless what Coventry City say, that he has spoen to them.

City have denied having any contact with Mr Evans in a statement issued this afternoon but Mr Evans told the Coventry Telegraph: “We know the value of the club. We have made a valuation of the club, and an offer has been formally submitted.

“We believe it’s something we can proceed on.

“I sent an offer to Joy Seppala originally myself.

“Regardless of what the club says, I have spoken to them. We know the value of the club and what we think it is worth.

“It’s to be negotiated with Sisu. We are in this together and we are serious with this.

“We believe the offer that’s gone in will be more than enough to release Sisu from the club.

“We want to thank Sisu for their efforts. We believe this consortium can take the club forward.

“We’re renegotiating the terms to put an offer forward.”

With Coventry City being used purely as a balance sheet item against which tax can be offset and Sisu looking to give their investors a return on the money they claim to have loaned to the Sky Blues, any bid is going to have to be a substantial one and it remains to be seen if any bid matches up to the value that the owners want.

It is clear from the hysteria that last night's Facebook postings caused amongst some sections of the support that change must come for the Sky Blues and the sooner the likes of Seppala, Fisher and Boddy are out of the club, the better the chances of City being able to turn things round on and off the field,  although whether doing your business in public on social media is the right way to go about bidding for a football club remains to be seen.
