To enable the large numbers of fans who wish to travel to see the Coventry City's evening Capital One Cup game at Arsenal on Wednesday 26th September 2012 and still pay due respect to Sky Blue legend Ernie Machin, Ernie's Memorial Service at Coventry Cathedral planned for the same afternoon will now be moved.
As soon as a new date has been determined we will announce it on our website (www.ccfpa.co.uk).
In addition, CCFPA and CCFC have decided to recast our planned Legends Day 2012-13reunion at the Carlisle United home game at the Ricoh the previous Saturday (22nd September 2012) as
'Sky Blue Legend: Ernie Machin Tribute Day'. This will enable a wider group of fans than can be accommodated in the Cathedral to pay their full respects to Ernie and also give all our visiting former players (including many of Ernie's former colleagues) the opportunity to join in celebrating Ernie's footballing career.
From early indications we are expecting a good turnout of FPs at the game including Dave Clements who is flying over from the United States for the occasion. Watch our website for more news of who will be coming.
