England Do Not Get 2018 World Cup

England will not be hosting the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The England delegation which included HRH Prince William and David Beckham as well as 2018 bid ambassadors in Zurich and London which included former Sky Blue Dion Dublin, heard the decision announced by FIFA's President Sepp Blatter after voting by FIFA delegates went to a third stage this afternoon.

The 2018 World Cup host country was decided by the 21 FIFA Committee Members plus the President eligible able to vote and they decided that it will be staged by Russia.

England World Cup Winner Martin Peters told Sky Sports News that he was gutted, whilst the mood of many was summed up by local journalist Simon Gilbert who said on Twitter: "Who would have thought a corrupt nation like Russia would get the backing of a corrupt organisation like FIFA?"

The 2022 World Cup will be hosted by Qatar. Australia, Japan. South Korea, USA also put in bids.
