Coventry City Director Joe Elliott tonight publicly thanked the Sky Blue Trust and City supporters for their help in saving the Sky Blue Academy.
The Coventrian and long standing supporter had been tasked in 2004 to close the Academy and down grade it to a centre of excellence. However, Mr Elliott decided that this was not the way forward and enlisted the willing help of the Sky Blue Trust to help save it.
Although the sums raised were not as much as hoped for, the fund-raising for which Joe thanked everyone who had contributed had bought the Academy time and allowed it to be saved.
He added that the club needs a constant steam of players coming through to the first team and that we need people to buy into the club through season tickets and the other schemes like PSL so that Micky Adams can have the necessary funds in order to get City into the Premiership.
