Coventry City have dropped to 11th in the Championship table after a poor performance saw them beaten 2-1 at Barnsley this afternoon.

The defeat was City's first at Oakwell for fourteen years and means the Sky Blues have taken a miserly one point from a possible twelve from the matches over the Holiday period.

Only one of the top nine teams in the table at the start of the day won. Leaders QPR were held 2-2 at home by Bristol City, whilst Norwich went second after a 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough.

Third placed Swansea lost 2-1 at Leicester whilst Watford won 2-1 at second bottom Scunthorpe.

Crystal Palace beat Preston 1-0 to move within a point from fourth from bottom Sheffield United. Micky Adams is still looking for his first win as Blades Boss as United were held 2-2 by Doncaster Rovers.

Elsewhere, Derby drew 0-0 with Millwall, Nottingham Forest won 1-0 at Ipswich, Hull won 3-2 at Portsmouth and Reading beat Burnley 2-1.
