Current EFL CEO Shaun Harvey has told TalkSport that the EFL are working with Coventry City regarding where City will play next season.

Mr Harvey said: “In terms of Coventry, the club is currently looking to resolve the current issue of where they will play next season. They are working closely with us.

“We had to issue notice of the EGM on 25th April yesterday to ensure that the statutory notice period was given under our rules.

“The letter that went out to clubs made it clear that none of us hope we get to that meeting and that we hope to resolve the matter in advance.

“In Coventry’s case, the principle is, you play in the city from where you take your name.

"The board will consider what options the club put in front of them at the next board meeting.

“Our number one desire would be to see the club stay in the city of Coventry and play at a perfectly good stadium for football, in fact better than perfectly good, the Ricoh Arena"
