Coventry City defender William Edjenguele has said that the City players have an obligation to perform every time they put on a City shirt.

“We are all aware of the situation with the club but it isn't up to the players to be frustrated," Edjenguele said to club journalist Kieran Crowely.

“When you step out unto the pitch, we have an obligation to the fans and the club to perform. You have to give 100% each game and there is no excuses for anything less.

“When it comes to Saturday, when we play in front of our own fans, we have to make sure we are playing our best.

“It doesn’t matter if you are on the top or at the bottom. As footballers, you should always approach a game wanting to win.

“When we wear the Sky Blue shirt, it is about pride. The pride of the club and the fans, and for ourselves.”
