Duo Dropped

Coventry City Caretaker manager Adrian Heath has dropped Robert Page and Michael Doyle after the training ground incident last Wednesday. The players who could face being sacked by the club have been told to stay at home for tonight's game against Luton Town.

"I don't want to elaborate too much on what's gone on but I have made the decision that both players won't be involved tonight," said Adrian Heath to the CT.

"They have both had two or three days off to clear their heads and we will have a better picture after the match. "There will be disciplinary action and people can rest assured we will be taking the appropriate steps. "It could be a sacking offence, it could not be. We will sit down with them over the next few days.

"It is a blow to us in terms of team selection but I have to make that decision and I can't be sitting and wondering whether either one of them is going to be in the right frame of mind and whether there would be any undercurrent after what's gone on. "But my gut feeling was that we are better getting on with it with the players we have got who we know are available and we know are focused on this game.

"I would think that if we pushed both of them they would be able to play but I don't think that would be fair. "They are both pretty remorseful at the moment and they have been disappointed with what's happened, but we have had to get on with our work.

"And as much as it is an incident, no disrespect to those two but the game against Luton is more important than individual feelings at this moment in time, and for that reason I feel that we are better working with the people that have been here over the last five or six days.
