Duggins: SISU Get Back To Running A Football Club

New Coventry City Council Leader George Duggins has said that SISU should get back to running a football club after the Judges decision supported the decision that Coventry City Council had not acted illegally when they loaned ACL £14m.

Councillor Duggins told the Coventry Telegraph's Simon Gilbert: : “I would ask Sisu to consider their position in respect of future action. Not only in respect of this, but also the other judicial review. It’s not doing anybody any good.

“They need to get back to running the football club. Coventry is a top ten city with a football club in the third tier - it’s not good enough.

“We don’t need these distractions when we’re trying to run a city, much as they don’t need them while trying to run a football club.

“Today’s judgment is conclusive, there’s no mileage in this going further. I don’t believe there are any policy issues that could be referred to the European Commission. They’ve been tested to distraction, first by Judge Hickinbottom and now by Justices Tomlinson, Treacy and Floyd.

“They have been very clear that we made the right decisions.”
