Coventry City captain Michael Doyle has said that the Sky Blues must keep on building following promotion from League Two.
Doyle said at today's press conference ahead of the first league game of the season with Scunthorpe United: "You can't read to much into pre-season, we will get judged on tomorrow and for the rest of the season.
"I think it's great to have competition it's what we need. Sometimes last year we struggled, but it gave the opportunity for the likes of Tom Bayliss, Jordan Shipley and Jordan Ponticelli.
"You only have to look at Scunthorpe's away record, it was one of the best in the league and it will be a tough game, but we have to focus on ourselves and pick up from where we left off at Wembley.
"There's going to be highs and lows throughout the season, but it's important we stick together and hopefully come April/May we're around the top places.
"Last season was just the start, let's keep the building the club and keep working."
